Do You Know These Scots?

Pte. Patrick Hennessy, in a photo taken at the camp in Beauly, Scotland, during World War Two.

Patrick Hennessy spent five years in Beauly and he made many lasting frienships with the local Scottish people he met while stationed there with the Forestry Corps.

We are trying to locate the descendents of the many Scottish people whom he befriended and named in his letters to family back home in Canada.

Frasers, Munros, MacKays etc. are some of the family names that appear frequently in his correspondence.

Some of these people also took up the pen and wrote to Patrick's wife Beatrice, filling her in on all the details of life in Scotland and striking up a friendship with her in their own right. Letters came from Beauly, Aboyne, Ayr, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

Here are the names, and in some cases, addresses of the people who Patrick and his wife Beatrice corresponded with in Scotland during the Second World War.
