Comments: James has been moved to St. Thomas, Ontario for additional training. Describes events since his last letter from Lachine and his journey to St. Thomas via Montreal, Toronto and London. Says his new barracks are wonderful except for the bars on the window. The reason is because it used to be an insane asylum. He says there are 18 miles of corridors in the station and that you can get lost here. Says Detroit is nearby and Buffalo too. Says the food is terrible, everything is rationed, not like Lachine at all.Asks for some sweets, said everything was fine in the last parcel she sent him except the lobster had spoiled.
