Dear Old Friend Pat,

I guess you would be thinking that I had forgotten you altogether but it was not so as I just wanted .... settled down to write. I ..... the letter you sent to the Hospital all night and was glad to see by it that you were still going strong and working away as usual. Well Pat I am still at the same old job so I guess I will be there to the end of my work days and I guess I could get a lot worse job. Well I guess Pat

you will be wanting to know all about the People I have met since I got here and the ones whom I still write to over in the Old Country. Well first and foremost I have not met C.L.K. in person but He phoned me a couple of times and sent me a xmas card the first xmas I was here but I have not yet been able to go and see Him and Myrtle although they don't live very far from my place. I have had two visits from George McLelland the last one only a few weeks ago with his wife so I guess Mac finially married the girl he left behind him. She is a nice girl but George is just the same old Mac. Earnie Broadbent is driving

a mail truck so I see him pretty often and he seems to be pretty well settled down now as for Ted Godfrey I think he is in the P.O. but I have not so far met him. I have had letters from Shortie and he was living in Wales the last I heard of him and he is the proud daddy of a girl born on March 17th 1946 and I guess you will know what her name is Patricia. I have not heard from Bob McKenzie for some time now but when last I did her he had struck a pretty bad patch owing to the illness of his wife and daughter and then he himself was laid up

I also had a letter from old Mrs Ray at the Ferry and everyone was well there and Mollie and Edith still on the look out for a hubby Well Pat I guess that is about all for this time so what about yourself now are you still of a mind to visit the Coast. Well if you don't fail to look us up as I sure would like to talk over old times with you. How is your weather we here are still having it pretty wet and cold for this time of the year and as I spend most of my spare time in the garden or around the house I am sort of at a loose end these days. Well Cheerio for now Pat and be sure and drop me a few lines soon. Cheerio and all the best Alex.
